Flower Girl Basket

This flower basket was originally a very shiny, very fushia, party top hat. I got it from a dollar store. I turned it on its top, primed it, and painted it white on the inside and out. Once dry, I cut the excess edge from the top hat. Then I painted the outside blue. I used primer to keep the paint from chipping off. I Then I created a stencil on vellum using a daisy pattern punch to paint some flowers on the oustide of the basket with the white paint over the blue. To finish the paint job I used a pearlizing finishing paint that goes on sheer and adds the pearl shine to the paint. I then glued vellum cut-out daisy shapes with the same punch and I shaped the vellum to stick out like a flower petals and placed them on top of the daisies I had already painted using the stencils. I glued a half of a styrofoam pearl for the center of the flower. I also glued pearl rows to the bottom and the edge of the basket to cover any imperfections from cutting to size. I used wire to create three rows of pearls to use a handle for the basket.

Guest Book

This was a fun project. I got a hardcover book from a thrift shop. This one happened to have a back cover that is longer than the front cover. I cut out the pages of the book and  painted every surface in a white flat paint, on the inside I covered it with paper which I later stamped to give it texture. On the front cover I added applications of styrofoam pearls, beads and jewels. When the book is closed the longer tab is still visible. I decorated it with embossed intials. This tab will also help to hold the pen for guest to sign with.

On the inside I stamped the names of the bride and groom and the date. I added pages from a sketch pad I got at the art store and I cut them to fit the size of the book covers. The pages were also embossed with a label and details on every corner

Invitations and stationery

I saw this invitation in a catalog so I reacreated the design on my own printer, using cardstock paper, vellum and creating a sash out of the vellum with a monogram embossing. The envelops were plain blue envelops from the store that I personalized by lining them with patterned paper, embossing initials on the outside and a attaching a wax seal on the closing flap.

Wishing Well

This Wishing Well is made out of mache paper containers, hand-painted with hand-glued applications of styrofoam pearls, beads  and jewels

My Wedding Crafts

An event such as a Wedding, its special in itself. However, personalizing the details of your event can make an even more memorable day not only for you but for your guests.

I've always enjoyed working on crafts and giving myself a room to be creative with the things I do. It all started with a desire to personalize my own wedding details. I started by creating my own invitations, my own flower bouquet, centerpieces, favors, escort cards, flower-girl baskets, a personalized wishing well, guest book.. and so many more things.. should I go on?

It got a little crazy, I have to admit, however the joy and the pleasure of creating my own special details was so meaningful to me and gave my wedding day an even greater personal touch.

I realize all brides want the same for their own special day, however not all of us have the patience, time, ability, or perhaps budget to start off some of these projects.

I want to share my abilities with those of you looking for help. I can help you envision, design and materialize your special day details.
